FOR FAMILIES

What Families Can Expect

Youth Theater Collective is a commitment-based program that values communication, collaboration, and follow-through. Students are trusted with real responsibility within clearly defined systems, and families are considered important partners in that process.

Families can expect:

  • A clearly defined rehearsal and production schedule shared in advance

  • Public performances with ticketed audiences

  • A shared responsibility model that emphasizes preparation, accountability, and follow-through

  • Clear communication regarding expectations, timelines, and program milestones

Safety, Consent & Trauma-Informed Practice

Youth Theater Collective prioritizes student safety, consent, and emotional well-being across all programming.

  • Youth-centered care: All facilitators are trained in trauma-informed teaching practices that prioritize emotional safety, respect, and dignity for every student.

  • Consent practices: Physical, emotional, and artistic consent are explicitly taught and modeled at every level, from choreography and blocking to rehearsal processes and performance preparation.

  • Clear policies: YTC maintains transparent policies related to student well-being, conduct, communication, and respectful community participation.

These practices ensure that students are supported in taking creative and leadership risks within safe, well-defined boundaries.
